Who needs Brazil e-visa.

You need Brazil e-visa to travel to Brazil unless your passport is exempt. Venelas works out that Brazil e-visa is the right authorisation for your trip, then prepares, checks and submits it for you.

Not sure whether you need one? Check the current rules on the official eligibility guidance before you apply.

What Brazil e-visa is for.

Brazil e-visa covers short visits to Brazil — tourism, visiting family and friends, business meetings, and, where the rules allow, transit. It is not a work permit or a long-stay visa.

If your trip is not covered by Brazil e-visa — a longer stay, or a purpose it does not allow — you may instead need a Brazilian visa. Your passport must be valid for your whole trip; Brazil's authorities set the exact conditions, shown on the official site.

Brazil e-visa questions, answered.

What does Brazil e-visa cost through Venelas?

You pay one Venelas fee to prepare, check and submit your application, shown in full before you pay, plus the government fee of $80.90. Both are shown on their own lines, and no fee is added after you start.

Who needs Brazil e-visa?

You need Brazil e-visa to travel to Brazil unless your passport is exempt. If you are unsure, check the current rules on the official site before you apply.

What do I need to apply?

Your passport, passport photo, an email address for the result, and your trip dates.

What can I do on Brazil e-visa?

Brazil e-visa is for short visits: tourism, seeing family and friends, business meetings, and, where the rules allow, transit. It does not permit paid work or long-term study. If your trip is not covered, you may instead need a Brazilian visa. The exact conditions are set by Brazil's authorities.

How long does Brazil e-visa take?

The authorities do not publish a set processing time. We submit as soon as your application is ready and keep you posted.

How long is Brazil e-visa valid, and how long can I stay?

It is valid up to 10 years. You can usually stay up to 90 days per visit.

Does my passport need to be valid for a certain time?

Your passport must be valid for your whole trip, and many destinations ask for at least six months’ validity beyond your arrival date. Check the current rule for Brazil on the official site; we flag it if your dates look short.

Do I need Brazil e-visa to transit through Brazil?

Transit rules vary by nationality and route. If you will only pass through Brazil on the way somewhere else, check whether an authorisation is required on the official site; we prepare the one your trip needs.

Can I apply for my whole family at once?

Yes. One Venelas application can carry several travellers, and we prepare each person’s authorisation. In most cases every traveller needs their own, including children.

Do I apply through Venelas or the government?

Venelas prepares, checks and submits your application to Brazil's authorities. Venelas is a private company owned by Opaige Inc, not a government agency. The decision to grant or refuse the authorisation is made solely by Brazil's authorities.

Can I change my details after I apply?

Tell us before we submit and we correct it at no cost. Once Brazil's authorities have issued Brazil e-visa, changes are made through them, not through Venelas.

How will I receive my Brazil e-visa?

When the decision is made, we send it to the email address on your application, and it stays in your Venelas account so you can find it any time.

Is my information secure?

Your details are sent over an encrypted connection and kept private, never sold. We store them so your next application takes about a minute.

Why might an application be refused, and what happens then?

The most common cause is incomplete or inconsistent information, which is why we read every field against the official form before we submit. The decision rests with Brazil's authorities. If it is refused, your Venelas fee comes back to you; the government fee belongs to the destination.
